Talk about fun and games! A fantastic day was had by all, and I've never seen a happier, more excited and gracious bunch of students. 13 students read 20 books and over 70% of the students read 10 or more!!!!
On behalf of the Jamestown part of the teams, we'd like to say a few heartfelt thanks yous to our new friends and faculty at Moses Brown.
To the Head of the Lower School: Mr. Jeff d'Entremont, thank you for your warm welcome and for extending an invitation to continue our collaboration. We'd love to!
To Mrs. Laura Gladding, for so calmly and generously hosting us, setting up the stations, getting the chaperones, setting up the tech, feeding us beyond our expectations, for all your invisible hard work in front of and behind the scenes to make this a super special day - and BTW, the cake was delicious!!!
To all the Moses Brown Parent Chaperones: You guided us through the stations, and took great care of us with great team spirit. Thank you so much!
To the teachers: Thank you for for playing with us, blogging with us, and a special thank you to Mrs. Garth for all your work and for the powerpoint team slides, so we could see our teammates before meeting them. We cheered every slide!
AND ESPECIALLY TO OUR TEAMMATES!!! You totally rock!! Let's stay friendly! Please keep in touch with us! Use the blog to trade emails or numbers - we'll definitely keep the connection going.
Jamestown Education Fund: Thank you Mrs. Fortenberry and all the board members for funding the bus so we could get to Moses Brown. We are grateful for it!
Jamestown PTO: Nothing gets kids reading faster than shiny trophies!! Thank you for footing the bill.
Jamestown Parents: For providing all the juice and snacks, which were a highlight and a respite from the hard work. You are always so generous and your contributions kept the energy high and the stomachs happy. It makes the work seem like a celebration - cause it is!!
Jamestown Fifth Grade Team: Thank you as ever for all your help and support!! Go Roosters!!
P.S. The results from our poll put Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library in First Place,
with Doll Bones in Second and Athlete vs. Mathlete in Third. Let's see what the rest of the state votes...
